I probably won't be posting for a while.    But as I know some of our regular readers and friends might be wondering why this weekly posting is late ......  Dai had an acute heart attack last monday while out walking Foxxie dog along the towpath and died.   He hadn't had a days illness in his life.   We are moored in birmingham and thank god our boatie friends fred and lisa are moored up right behind me.    please forgive me if i havent talked to you personally.   I have been overwhelmed with love, kindness, care and support from family, friends and complete strangers.

  18. Janice, A such a sad time it is very hard to find the right words which reflect the desperate loss you must be feeling. However, there are some words which might be a little more positive - You did it! - you built the boat, you sailed it and you lived on it. You lived your dream, even if for a tragically short time - you and Dai did do it.

It will be very hard to adjust but having this great shared achievement will help, I'm sure.

  20. When we heard the news of Dai it took our breath away. We are sorry not to be there to offer our support, but know that you are in good hands and all the wonderful folk who live on the canals will look after you. We will raise a glass to Dai on the 4th and will always remember him when we are drinking a pint from the Black Seep brewery.
